Terms of Service

last update October 2025

Welcome! Thank you for supporting Ash & Altar. Every product and service I offer is created with care, creativity, and a whole lot of love. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain how I do business and what you agree to when making a purchase, booking a service, or using my website.

1. General Overview

Ash & Altar is a small, creative business based in Nevada offering handmade body and apothecary products, photography services, and custom home décor. By purchasing from me (through invoice, Etsy, or any other platform), you agree to these Terms.

2. Products & Services

All items are handcrafted or created individually. Because of their handmade nature, slight variations in color, scent, or appearance are completely normal and part of what makes each piece unique.

Custom orders, photography sessions, and décor projects may have their own written agreements or quotes that supplement these Terms.

3. Payments

Payment is due at the time of purchase or as stated in your invoice. I primarily accept payments through Etsy checkout or payment links I send directly. Custom orders may require a deposit before work begins.

4. Returns & Exchanges

I want you to love what you receive!

  • Unopened/Sealed Items: Eligible for return or exchange within 14 days of delivery.
  • Used Items: Exchanges may be offered if you’re unsatisfied—please reach out so we can make it right.
  • Custom Orders: Not returnable or refundable once production has begun.
  • Digital Products: All digital sales are final.
  • Shipping Costs: Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless the product arrived damaged or defective.

Please contact me within 7 days of receiving your order if there’s an issue.

5. Shipping

Local pickup is always available for all products. For items sold through Etsy.com, shipping is available within the United States. Each order is packaged with care, and once shipped, tracking information will be provided.

Ash & Altar is not responsible for postal delays, lost packages, or delivery errors once a shipment leaves my hands—but I’ll do my best to help resolve any issues.

6. Custom Work

For custom apothecary blends, home décor pieces, or photography sessions, please note:

  • A deposit or full payment may be required upfront.
  • Custom projects are non-refundable once work has started.
  • I reserve the right to decline custom requests that don’t align with my brand, ethics, or safety standards.
7. Photography Services & Privacy

When photographing people or private spaces, I respect your privacy and will never share identifiable images without your written permission.

You may receive a photo release or model consent form depending on the project. I also retain rights to my creative work and may display non-identifiable images in my portfolio or social media unless you ask otherwise.

8. Intellectual Property

All photos, product images, designs, text, and branding on Ash & Altar’s website and materials are owned by me (unless otherwise credited). Please don’t copy, reproduce, or use them without written permission.

9. Wellness & Safety Disclaimer

My apothecary items are crafted with natural ingredients and positive intention, but they are not medical products and should not replace professional healthcare advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always do a patch test for new products, and consult a medical professional for any health concerns.

By purchasing and using my products, you agree that Ash & Altar is not responsible for any adverse reactions, misuse, or outcomes beyond reasonable control.

10. Limitation of Liability

Ash & Altar is a small handmade business. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I’m not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of my products or services.

My total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service in question.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12. Updates

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will always show the most recent version. Continuing to use my website or make purchases after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

Thank You

Thank you for choosing Ash & Altar and supporting handmade, heart-led work.

If you have any questions about these Terms, please reach out to me directly before placing your order — I’m always happy to clarify.
